About Me

Wendy Hill is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. She maintains a private practice in Cary and Southpoint/Durham NC.

W ith over 18 years of experience working with individuals and families as a counselor , and as a graduate of University of Maryland's Counseling program, she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, marital counseling, stress, and working with teens and children as they transition through social/emotional and family changes.

In addition to counseling, Wendy has made presentations to general audiences speaking on the topics of Self-Harm and the Impacts of Social Media on young adults.

Wendy is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Wendy is happily married and a mom. She enjoys cooking, reading, and taking walks with their rescue. Wendy and her family have been actively helping to rescue dogs, and a few kittens too, for the past 17 years. Through fostering she and her husband found their first dog. Their "failed foster" passed away four years ago after eight wonderful years together. She and her family have recently found their next "failed foster" who has turned out to be the perfect rescue puppy. Her work with animals has given Wendy a better understanding of people's connection to their pets and how a pet can enhance a person's life. This has led to pet loss counseling for individuals as they learn to cope with the loss of their pet. Wendy strives for a balanced life between work and family and hopes to help clients achieve that balance as well.
